Hello! I’m Jennifer- welcome to my little blog!
I’m a momma to three amazing boys, The Oldest is 9, The Middle is 7, and The Baby is 3. I know he’s not a baby anymore, but c’mon give me some slack. He’s definitely the baby around here. I’m married to my high school sweetheart who is pretty stinkin’ amazing. I’m a lucky girl to be his wife.
I write, mostly, about my family and our adventures. One of our family values is, “Say ‘yes’ to adventure.” and we try to say yes as much as we can! We recently moved from Minnesota, our home of 10 years to the Seattle area. We aren’t sure this is our forever home so we are trying to see and do all that we can while we’re here. You will see me blog about intentional parenting. Because I lived a very chaotic and confusing childhood, one that I do not want to repeat with my own children, my husband I work hard to be intentional about how we raise our boys. This spans everything from our family values to how we spend time together.
My childhood actually has made me a better parent, mostly. However, life isn’t always sunshine and rainbows and I also write about adult-ing/parenting after childhood trauma. Sexual abuse is not a warm, fuzzy conversation, but it’s one that I feel very passionate about and I’ll try to include posts about protecting your own children and the children in your lives. I also will sometimes write about what it’s like to be an adult and a parent after a childhood of abuse by parents. It’s tricky and scary and used to feel so very lonely until I found a tribe of women that understand. I’m lucky that I can share a perspective that might help other kiddos or other survivors.
I write because I’m called to, not only by the people around me, but by a stirring in my soul that nudges (okay, sometimes shoves) me to do so. I hope you find something that you can connect to here. I’m excited to share this crazy, awesome life with you and I hope you’ll share your voice here, too.
