You know what they say about the best laid plans. The West is on fire. Last weekend we camped in the northeast portion of Washington and ended up driving through an actual wildfire. It was dark as night and we could feel the heat from the fires in the car. We were one of the last cars through before the road was closed. We aren’t super interested in doing that again, so we decided to switch up our road trip.
After cancelling all our California sites, we planned again. Then….we got notice that our elementary would be going back to school before expected – possibly as soon as October. Well, shoot. We went back through, cancelled our Arizona sites and are sticking with Utah and Colorado. We’ll only be gone three weeks instead of five which we’ve come to terms with. Our kiddos’ soccer seasons are moving forward with accommodations and the shorter timeline will help them get back on the field sooner. I’m looking for the positives in it all. Soccer is the only one I can find at the moment.
Here’s what we’re looking at for our new trip. We can’t wait to hit the road!
