We spent our last weekend in Minnesota in Duluth on a little vacation with one of our favorite families. It was a blessing to be away from our house, a reminder that we would soon be leaving. We spent time eating meals together, touring a lighthouse, spent a ridiculous number of hours aimlessly throwing rocks into the lake, eating s’mores, taking a train ride and the boys even did some unplanned waterfall jumping. I’m sure that last feat will not soon be forgotten and we’re happy to have made the memories.
We stayed in Two Harbors at Superior Shores. We’ve stayed there before and love it for a lot of reasons. They have a giant grassy area out back, a huge rock beach, a fire pit, and giant hot tubs in certain rooms. The boys love hopping in the hot tub (it would seriously fit our entire family) after swimming in the cold lake. We got patio rooms so that the kids could run in the grass and the parents could sit on the patios. We had one giant pup with us as well. Bonus! Pets allowed.
The day after we got back we sent all the boys to daycare. The packers were coming so we knew we wanted them out of the house. They got to spend time with their daycare mom. She’s the only provider we’ve ever had and she’s pretty much the best thing that could ever happen to a working mom. The day after that the movers came. Then we lived out of a hotel for a few more days while we wrapped up the things that needed to be done and say some more good-byes. Then we hopped on a flight to Seattle. One way.
