ROAD TRIP: INTRO

Welcome to our Road Trip Series! If you are just joining, start here or scroll down for links to all the Road Trip Series posts. Oh, friends. I wasn't totally sure what we had gotten ourselves into, but last summer we kept throwing around the idea of a summer road trip back to Minnesota and somehow it stuck. So, we did it! I was hoping it'd be an epic adventure filled with family time, ...

CREATING FAMILY YEARBOOKS

If you've been around here, you might have noticed I didn't exactly have a sunshiney childhood overall. That doesn't mean, however, that there weren't some memories worth holding on to. Some of my favorite memories were those that were relived throughout the years by looking at photos; a trip to Madeline Island where we fed the ducks Cheetos and my sister got bit, our road trip to ...

SUMMER TIME SCREEN TIME

My kiddos are finally out of school! It seems like this school year has dragged on forever. I'm excited to be unscheduled and FREE! But, just like most moms, summer time brings big changes around our home. It usually takes us a week to get in a grove and my youngest has been the whiniest ever lately. Also, can I mention we've been "potty training" since February. I think we finally ...

ORGANIZING YOUR DIGITAL PHOTOS

Recently I had some friends ask how I organize my personal photos. You know the problem, cell phone snapshots, "big camera" photos, family photos for the year, all in various folders, platforms, and clouds. Rest easy, my friends, I was there once too. So here's the bad news, it's going to be a bit of work at the beginning to get your system set up. Like any good reorganization, it gets messier ...

CREATING MARGIN WHEN HOSTING GUESTS

My grandmother was an amazing hostess. Going to her home was like going on vacation. She cooked delicious meals, made sure everyone was taken care of and, best of all, set up the coziest beds for everyone, even if they were on the couch or floor. Now that we are half a country away from most of our family and friends, we have a lot more house guests for longer periods of time. There are people who ...

BRIDAL VEIL FALLS // WA

We've had some great weather in Washington and took advantage of it by making the gorgeous drive to Bridal Veil Falls. Seriously, the drive along the river made the trip worth it alone. The hike is rated easy which I totally get in comparison to some other hikes in the state, like oh, say Mt. Rainier. However, it definitely wasn't as kid-friendly as other hikes we've been on that are ...

Hello! I’m Jennifer.

I'm a momma to three amazing boys and a wife to a husband that's pretty perfect, too. What will you find here? Well, I mostly write about life with my three boys and our adventures living in the PNW, and because life isn't always sunshine and rainbows I write about adult-ing/parenting after childhood trauma. I write because I'm called to, not only by the people around me, but by a stirring in my soul that nudges (okay, sometimes shoves) me to do so. I hope you find something that you can connect to here. I'm excited to share this crazy, awesome life with you and I hope you'll share your voice here, too. Read More…
